Six months old and growing!

Today is Devon's six month birthday, so pictures are definitely in order. I'm including the one of Devon taken at the hospital-- How much he has grown!

Devon is now eating 1/2 jar of baby food twice a day. He actually seems to prefer solids to his bottle now, if you can believe it. He is just like his daddy when it comes to foods-- he only likes certain ones and he absolutely refuses to eat anything that doesn't suit his tastebuds. Which basically means he eats everything with apples. He doesn't care for sweet potatoes, green beans, bananas, plain cereals-- Nope, he wants chicken and apples, rice cereal and apples, bananas and apples. I think I am going to have to mix applesauce with his veggies just to get him to take a few bites! The important thing is that he is enjoying solids and not waking up hungry during the night anymore.

Devon's latest trick is sticking his tongue out. All the time. It's pretty funny.

Devon still refuses to stand up and support himself at all. He refuses to sit up by himself, even though he has the muscles to do it. He just likes to know that you are there with him or he won't even try. He is enjoying rolling over and spending more time on his side. And he is cooing much more frequently, especially during meal times (which although pretty messy to have a baby talking with his mouth full, is pretty cute as well). He is getting better around new people. Katie babysat for us last night for the first time in a month and he didn't even fuss when I left (much to my dismay that he didn't seem to miss me at all!!!) Overall, he is a very happy and loving baby. Happy six month birthday, Baby Devon!

Pictures

Alrightee, here we go again. Hopefully this will work!

Missing Redding already!!!

OK, I don't even know where to start with updates. Here we go...

1) Devon. He rolled from his tummy to his back the first time on the 9th and today even rolled from his back to his tummy. But his favorite pasttime is to roll from his back to his side (not all the way to his tummy) and arch his back until he moves like a game spinner. He even did Ally's trick today. Kept his head on the floor but straightened his back legs with his butt in the air. He's really getting strong (and let's not forget heavy).

2) My job at Curves. Is going wonderfully. I enjoy the part-time hours, and I also enjoy watching how much Josh and Devon are bonding. That may be the best part.

3) Josh. Got over his fear of feeding the baby. Not really a fear though-- he just thought feeding babies was gross since it's pretty messy. But for two nights in a row, Dad has fed baby D. successfully. So be sure to compliment Josh on his latest milestone as a Dad!!!

4) Weston. Poor Weston. His first day at childcare, he attempted to climb a chair and fell. He only cut his head, but Papa Kibler thought it would be funny to give him a fake black eye with make-up. Check out his PRETEND bruiser.

5) I just have a lot of pictures to post so enjoy the multiple blogs of pictures only!!!

Can't Wait to See Everyone!!!

Just a quick blog entry to let everyone know how excited Josh and I are to be heading to Redding next week. We are looking forward to seeing everyone, but for nanas and papas that want a Devon fix before then, here are some pictures!

Also, here is a quick family update: I left United American Ins. Co. because I hated it--really, really hated it-- plus I felt sooo drained from working that when I got home, I found myself unable to give Devon the attention he deserved. So instead I took on a part-time job at Curves, which is a nice POSITIVE environment and I get to work out for free. The hours are just part-time enough where I get a small baby break, and come back energized to spend time with him. Which is important because Devon started waking up for middle of the night feedings again. 2 middle of the night feedings each night!!! I didn't think he was hungry at first and tried to ignore him, hoping he would fall asleep on his own, but he was actually hungry. I fed him and he went back to sleep for 2 more hours and then he wanted to eat again!!! The hungry hog is back! He's still resisting solids (as you can tell by his facial expression when confronted by peas), but he loves playing with kitchen utensils.

We'll see you all soon!
