New tricks everyday!!!

Mr. Man is certainly learning new things every day. In the last two days, he has finally learned to actually jump in his jumperoo after MONTHS of contentedly hanging there, playing with the toy bar. He loves jumping too. Which means he is also finally putting weight on his feet so when you hold him up, he will actually stand. Woo hoo!!!

He is even using his sippee cup, but of course, Mr. Man is impatient so I had to take the spill-proof plug out to get him to actually use it. By the time he finishes gargling and laughing with his water, he looks ready to win a wet-onesie contest, but that's our Devon. His ever-increasing weight has earned him a nickname from P. Daddy: Heavy D.

And Heavy D. is super close to figuring out how to crawl. Every morning I expect it to happen, but God has been kind so far, and I am thankful to enjoy his last moments in baby stage before he takes his first steps into toddlerhood. Don't get me wrong-- I am excited each time he learns something new. But at the same time I get a little sad because he growing so quickly and each step is a reminder that I will never get this time back and I don't want to miss anything. He has time enough to be a big boy so I really don't want to rush him out of this stage.

I am enclosing some pictures of Devon and my mom who was up for the day. He sure is a cutie (but then again, I am biased to think so.) His hair continues to get blonder and blonder, just like his Grandma Moore. Their colors are almost identical!!!

I'll post again soon. Til' then--

Little Man, Little Man

Devon has had a very eventful weekend. Friday morning, while Dad was feeding him, Devon managed to get a hold of the spoon. Which of course was on the floor faster than you can say "baby food." So of course, Josh fell into his trap and leaned over to pick up the spoon, leaving the half full jar of baby food on the high chair tray. We can all guess where that ended up-- upside down of course and smeared all over the high chair, the floor and Baby Devon of course!!!

Then the same day, while Mom was giving Mr. Man a bath, Devon had an entirely new discovery. During bathtime, Devon figured out that he was a boy and had the parts to match, which basically translates into Mr. Man has a brand-new favorite bath toy. Let me tell you, he was NOT happy when I ended his fun by putting on his diaper.

And if those adventures were not enough for the little guy, we had visitors this weekend. Devon was able to spend time with Nana and Papa Ritter. I am including some C-UTE pictures of him bonding with his nana.

Alrightee, well, enjoy and we'll keep updating the blog.

Devon's Check-Up

Mr. Man has fully recovered from his bronchitis, and had his shots today. Of course, before he had his shots, he decided to go to the bathroom (like really go to the bathroom) and while Josh was changing his diaper, Devon decided to pee. It was probably the most I have ever seen him do, and it got everywhere. I am sure we made a great impression at the new Dr.'s office! But Devon survived his shots, and now weighs 19 lbs. 1/2 oz.

Oh and tonight while I was feeding him his blueberries and apples, he decided to grab the spoon and smear it all over himself and the highchair. It got pretty messy. I am including some pictures of the not-so-little guy.

Pictures for Rachel!!!

OK, Rachel-- I hope you enjoy these pictures of Devon in his favorite Georgetown t-shirt! It was really nice catching up with you today. I am extremely proud of you for doing everything you said you were going to do when we graduated high school. Good luck in Tunisia and hopefully we will see you before you head out!

Devon's Not So Well Check-Up...

OK, so today was supposed to be Devon's 6 month check-up. The three of us have all been a little under the weather for about 4 days now, but I seriously thought we were having allergies. Wrong! Mr. Man has bronchitis (and of course, I feel really bad for thinking it was the same old allergy cough and not bringing him in sooner). But he is on meds and he hasn't really been that much fussier than usual. He hasn't even had a fever. He has actually been in a pretty good mood. He has just been coughing, which has been waking him up at night, but never in a bad mood. But he is o'kay. He weights 18 lbs. 1 1/2 oz, which places him in the 75% for weight and he is in the 95% for height. Mr. Man is a BIG BOY! Thankfully, we had an awesome pediatrician and an understanding nurse. They were both great at addressing my questions and concerns. Even Devon laughed and smiled with them (which is huge since he hasn't been into strangers lately AND since he wasn't feeling 100%).

As for the rest of the family, we are hanging in there. I am 99% sure Josh has bronchitis too because the boys have the same yucky cough and Josh has been complaining about the tightness of his chest, but his lovely HMO MD is out of the office. No answering service. No on call doc. So we are trying to get Josh in ASAP because I really don't want the boys to continue to swap germs. While I definately have a cold or a virus of sorts, I do not have the cough or tight chest so I am praying that I don't get sick. Please pray for us during our first family affair of illness.

All in all, we're doing o'kay. We miss everyone and hope that you are all doing well.
