We've Got Smiles!!! (on camera... finally...)

Baby Devon started smiling the day after Easter, but it has been a real challenge to capture his grin on film. Every time we tried to grab the camera in time, Devon got mad. It seems as though he abhors absolutely anything that takes our eyes off of him. But we did it! Finally! This morning, we managed to capture Devon smiling on camera (but it took a tag team effort to accomplish this feat).

On a different note, Devon got his first immunizations today. He was a real trooper. Dad held him for the shots while Mom and Grandma left the room to make a comfort bottle. In the short time it took to make his bottle, Devon had finished his shots and had even stopped crying. But he still thoroughly enjoyed his comfort bottle. And mommy's hungry hog is now 10 lbs. 11 oz. That's our boy!

Tummy Time

Look at my latest trick! I'm getting bigger and stronger everyday, and I am starting to like being on my tummy for a little while... until I get tired. I concentrate pretty hard when I am holding my head up... Just look at my wrinkles!

Easter Morning With Mom and Dad

Here are some pictures of Devon looking bright-eyed and alert early this morning. Happy Easter Baby D!

Bonding with Papas

It seems to be that Devon's papas aren't getting as much face time as they deserve on this blogsite, so I decided to include some pictures of Devon bonding with his papas today. These pics are for you boys!

Devon's First Easter

Devon survived his first Easter-- multiple destinations and all. Here are some pictures of Devon with his cousins. It's hard to believe what a huge difference a few weeks makes with babies. As I get to spend more time with Aly and Weston, I look forward to future things to come with Devon. Before we know it, Devon will be Emily's age and then we'll blink and he'll be Jace's age. It's pretty amazing.

Bonding With Grandma

Last night my Grandma stayed over to help my mom while Dad was working out of town. Here are some pictures of me bonding with my grandma (not to be confused with Nana Ritter or Nana Cheryl). She gave me a bath, sang me songs, and even talked me to sleep! (Which ironically enough, is NOT a joke. Grandma really did literally talk me to sleep.) But we had a blast! Thank you Grandma for all the fun!

Baby Devon, SuperFlirt

Since my birth, I have been one popular guy with the ladies. Bekah traveled from San Fransisco to hold me and Myda came all the way from Amsterdam via New York via San Diego. Men want to be me, and why wouldn't they? Women love me! Take a look at some of these super hot ladies that traveled from afar just to meet me.

Naked pictures! (not exactly)

Well, it's official. Devon weighs 9 pounds 13 ounces as of 1:30pm! Mommy's little hungry hog is certainly getting big . (When he's older, I am sure Devon will squirm when he finds out his nickname, but until then...)

More pictures of Baby Devon!

Wow! It's hard to believe that Devon is already six weeks old! It's even harder to believe that he was less than six pounds only six weeks ago. I think he's well over ten pounds now, but we'll get the official weigh in tomorrow. Here are some pictures that I took earlier today. Enjoy!

Meet Baby Devon!

Baby Devon was born February 23, 2006 at 4:46pm in Redding, CA. Devon's favorite pasttimes include eating, sleeping, sometimes cuddling, and often crying. He HATES baths and being too warm, but he enjoys being held, watching the cat, staring at his cousins, and long drives. His favorite person is his mommy of course-- at least until his dad has the chance to teach him about the Phoenix Suns, the Miami Dolphins, and how to meet quality women. Devon's latest trick is that he can now stick out his tongue and blow spit bubbles. My, how fast they grow!

Meet Kari Ritter!

Meet Kari Ritter, proud mama of Devon Ritter. Kari is currently attempting to adjust to life without a full-time PAYING job while also adjusting to life with a 24-7 NON-PAYING, but sometimes rewarding one. The rewarding moments are beginning to increase in frequency, and will hopefully continue this upward trend. Before baby Devon, Kari enjoyed dining out, lots of karaoke, reading good novels, and taking afternoon naps. Post baby Devon, Kari enjoys finishing a meal that she starts, getting a shower in the morning, and any sleep she can get. Oh and of course the BIG BUCKING CHICKEN COMMERCIAL-- because it's really freakin' funny, or at least seems really funny, when you're sleep deprived and you haven't finished a complete meal in more than a week.

Meet Josh Ritter!

Meet Josh Ritter, proud papa of baby Devon. Josh is currently a manager in training at Cattlemens Restaurant in Redding, CA and will hopefully be transferring as an Assistant Manager at the Livermore location. Prior to fatherhood, Josh's favorite pasttimes included jogging, playing tennis, reading and spoiling his beautiful wife. Josh's current pasttimes include washing bottles, changing diapers, and feeding his ever-growing son. Josh wants readers to know that he doesn't love BIG BUCKING CHICKENS from BK as much as his wife does. Kari wants readers to know that when Josh proposed to Kari, he offered to be her wife. That being said, Josh is an all-around nice guy and an outstanding father and husband.

Adjusting to Motherhood

As much as I love and adore our son, adjusting to motherhood hasn't been without its challenges. For example, Devon and I have spent most of this past week fighting a cold. Tonight, Devon fussed and cried from 5:00pm on. After feedings, diaper changes, and cuddling failed to soothe him, I even attempted sitting in the bathroom with the shower on full blast, hoping that the steam would relieve our pain and his cries. No luck! After a frantic call to my husband at work, Nana was called in for a rescue mission. She arrived less than 10 minutes later and Devon fell asleep almost instantly in her arms. I decided to detox from the emotion with some computer time. Motherhood is not for wimps! Even in all of the stress of tonight, Devon looks so darn cute when he is fussy that I just had to post some pictures. Thank you, Nana Ritter, for a much needed break!

Meet the Ritters!

Welcome to the Ritter family webpage! The Ritter clan consists of Josh, Kari and Devon Ritter who are about to move to Livermore, CA. They decided to create a webpage as a means of maintaining the grandparents' daily dose of baby Devon. Enjoy!
